• Authenticating and authorizing faculty access to their official portal.

• Facilitating editorial reviews and checks for the college digital magazine (Tarangini).
• Maintaining digital research publication records for NAAC and NIRF statutory accreditation.

4. Device Permissions Requested

The BNC Faculty application may request the following device permissions to perform specific user-initiated actions:

• Camera & Gallery / Storage Permission: Required when a faculty member chooses to capture or upload a profile picture, attach documents to study materials, or upload press clippings/articles. The app only accesses files explicitly selected by the user.
• Internet & Network State: Required to communicate securely with the college academic servers and synchronize timetables and attendance records.
• Notifications: Used solely to alert teachers regarding college academic circulars, emergency holidays, or assigned editorial duties.

We do not access your device's contacts, SMS, audio recordings, or precise GPS location.

5. Data Security & Protection

We employ robust, industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your data against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction:

• All network communications between the App and our servers are encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS).

We DO NOT sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal or academic information to any third parties or advertisers.

The BNC Faculty app is completely ad-free. Data is solely stored on the official institutional servers of Bihar National College, Patna. We do not disclose data to third parties except when required by statutory regulatory bodies (such as Patna University, Higher Education Department, or legal authorities under applicable Indian law).

7. Children's Privacy

The BNC Faculty application is designed exclusively for college educators, faculty members, and administrative staff. It is not intended for use by children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Data Retention and Account Deletion

Faculty accounts are maintained throughout their active tenure at Bihar National College. If a faculty member superannuates, transfers, or leaves the institution, their active app access is retired by the college administrative office.

Faculty members may request correction or deletion of inaccurate profile data by contacting the College IT Cell or the Principal's Office.
