The Department of Philosophy is one of the oldest department of B. N. College having a number of eminent scholars as its faculty members. Since its establishment, the department has been committed in imparting the philosophical discourse along with inspiring the students to live philosophical wisdom in family society and nation. Among the faculty members two of them namely Prof. D. N. Sen and Prof. S. N. Roy graced the chair of principal of the college.

At present the department has been following the past traditions with full dedication and commitments. As a result of our dedicated teaching our student topped in Patna University Part – III 2015 exam. our goal and aim is to teach the prescribed syllabus in accordance with the modern methodology. Dr. A. K. Verma, Dr. B. N. Sahay, Dr. P. N. Bhagat, Dr. S. Jha, Dr. R. R. Sahay, Dr. R. C. Sinha and many others have graced the department as Heads or faculty members.

This department is one of the most reputed department of the college actively engaged in research works publication of articles and books. At present the department has two regular and two ad-hoc members as below-
